Vacuum Brake Booster: Service and Repair

REMOVAL





1. Disconnect the power brake booster hose.
1 Compress the clamp.
2 Disconnect the power brake booster hose.
2. Remove the battery tray.
3. Remove the brake master cylinder.





4. Remove the nut on the back side of the hood latch release handle and position it aside.

NOTE: Coupe shown; Sedan, Wagon similar.





5. Remove the screw and the instrument panel steering column cover.





6. Disconnect the light switch rheostat resistor electrical connector.

NOTE: Coupe shown; Sedan, Wagon similar.





7. Remove the self-locking pin.





8. Remove the clevis pin.





9. Remove the power brake booster nuts and the power brake booster.

INSTALLATION





1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
