Backing Plate: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Remove the rear wheel cylinder.





2. Unstake, remove, and discard the rear axle wheel hub retainer.
3. Remove the wheel hub.





4. Disconnect the (A) parking brake cable and remove the (B) parking brake link spring.





5. Pull the parking brake actuating lever through the slot in the brake backing plate.





6. Remove the parking brake cable bracket bolts and remove the bracket.





7. Remove the backing plate.
1 Remove the bolts.
2 Remove the backing plate.

INSTALLATION














1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
