Using New Generation Star (NGS) Tester

Diagnostics for this system require use of the Rotunda New Generation Star (NGS) Tester 418-F048 (007-00500) or equivalent. The module controlling the system being diagnosed communicates with the Data Link Connector (DLC) located beneath the instrument panel.
^ Use the Rotunda New Generation Star (NGS) Tester 418-F048 (007-00500) or equivalent connected to the Data Link Connector (DLC) to retrieve continuous Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) and to execute self test diagnostics for the air bag Electronic Crash Sensor (ECS) module.
^ If self test is passed and no Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) are retrieved, GO to the Symptom Chart to continue diagnostics. Symptom Related Diagnostic Procedures

^ If the air bag Electronic Crash Sensor (ECS) module cannot be accessed by the NGS, GO to Pinpoint Test B. B: LFC 24/DTC B1342 - ECS Module Internal Fault
