Ignition Coil Pack
REMOVAL
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Disconnect engine control sensor wiring from the ignition coil.
3. Disconnect engine control sensor wiring from radio ignition interference capacitor.
Removing Ignition Wires At Coil Pack:
4. Disconnect ignition wires by squeezing locking tabs and twisting while pulling upward.
5. Remove four ignition coil retaining bolts and remove ignition coil, radio ignition interference capacitor and ignition coil ground wire. Save radio ignition interference capacitor and ignition coil ground wire for reinstallation with ignition coil.
INSTALLATION
1. Position ignition coil, radio ignition interference capacitor and ignition coil ground wire onto RH valve cover.
2. Install ignition coil retaining bolts and tighten to 5-7 Nm (45-61 lb-in).
3. Apply Ford Silicone Brake Caliper Grease and Dielectric Compound D7AZ-19A331-A or equivalent meeting Ford specification ESE-M1C171-A to all ignition wire boots.
4. Install each ignition wire connector to the proper terminal on the ignition coil. Make sure ignition coil boots are fully seated.
5. Connect the engine control sensor wiring to the ignition coil and to the radio ignition interference capacitor.
6. Connect battery ground cable.
