Reassembly
1. Make sure all parts (old and new) are completely clean prior to reassembly.NOTE
BE SURE THAT THE 0-RING SEAL IS NOT DAMAGED.
2. Insert and lock the CVV, vapor hose assembly, and other fittings.
3. Reinstall the canister assembly into the mounting bracket.
4. Tighten the fastener to the torque specified in the appropriate Service/Workshop Manual, if applicable.
NOTE
THE ASSEMBLED EVAPORATIVE EMISSION CANISTER AND BRACKET ASSEMBLY MUST BE CHECKED FOR LEAKAGE ON THE BENCH PRIOR TO INSTALLATION ON THE VEHICLE.
5. Component leak test:
a. Use the Evaporative Emission System Tester (Rotunda 134-0056) for the OBD II and the Accessory Kit-Evap System Tester (Rotunda 310-F012).
b. Lubricate 0-ring seals.
c. Select the appropriate fuel vapor hose test plug and pressure tap from the accessory kit and insert them into the fuel vapor couplers.
d. Attach the Test Plug, Pressure Tap, Rotunda unit, and the CVV Electrical Test Harness.
e. Pressurize the fuel vapor storage canister and bracket assembly at 3.48 kPa (14 inches) of water, using the "fill" position of the Rotunda tester.
f. Position the Rotunda tester's control valve to the "test" position, push the "start" button and observe the pressure loss for 2 minutes.
g. Test criteria:
^ If less than 0.44 kPa (1.8 inches) of water PASS
^ If greater than 0.44 kPa (1.8 inches) of water - FAIL
h. If greater than 0.44 kPa (1.8 inches) of water, determine source of leak with Rotunda kit.
i. If the ultrasonic leak detector can not locate leak, use a liquid leak detector or soap solution.
6. Reinstall the evaporative emission canister and bracket assembly onto the vehicle. Tighten the fasteners to the torque specified in the Service/Workshop Manual.
7. Reconnect the electrical connector to the CVV.
8. Make sure the vapor tube connections are clean prior to reassembly.
9. Lubricate 0-ring seals with water-based lubricant.
10. Insert and lock each fuel vapor tube couple onto the chassis vapor tube.
NOTE
LEAK TEST THE ENTIRE VEHICLE EVAPORATIVE EMISSION CONTROL SYSTEM AFTER ALL CONNECTIONS ARE MADE. USE THE ROTUNDA EVAPORATIVE EMISSION SYSTEM TESTER (134-00056) FOR OBD II.
11. Perform Vehicle Evaporative Emission Control System Leak Test.
