Evaporative Emission Control Canister: Service and Repair

REMOVAL

Removal from Vehicle
1. Raise the vehicle on a hoist.
2. Disconnect the evaporative emission canister vent tube from the secondary vent hose at the filler neck.
3. Disconnect the electrical connector from the canister vent solenoid.
4. Remove canister and bracket assembly bolts and nuts.







5. Partially lower the EVAP canister with bracket assembly and disconnect the fuel tank vent tube from evaporative emission tube.







6. Remove the evaporative emissions canister (EVAP canister) from the vehicle.

Removal of Evaporative Emissions Canister from Evaporative Emissions Canister Bracket







1. Using a suitable tool, applied at the end opposite the vapor ports, pry the evaporative emissions canister out of its bracket.
2. Disconnect the canister vent solenoid with evaporative emission canister vent tube from the canister port.
3. Disconnect the evaporative emission canister purge sleeve with the evaporative emission canister vent tube and the evaporative emission canister purge sleeve from the ports on the canister.
4. Disconnect the evaporative emission canister vent tube from the canister port.

INSTALLATION
1. Follow the removal procedure in reverse order.
