Removal
1. Remove battery ground cable and positive battery cable.
2. Remove battery and battery tray.
3. Remove Air Cleaner (ACL).
4. Disconnect transaxle harness electrical connector and digital Transmission Range (TR) sensor electrical connector.
5. Remove shift actuator cable fitting, one nut and disconnect transaxle shift cable from shift cable bracket and transaxle.
6. Remove shift lever and retaining nut.
7. Disconnect fluid cooler tube from transaxle.
8. Remove four upper transaxle-to-engine bolts and one upper transaxle-to-engine stud.
9. Install two Engine Lifting Brackets 303-050 (T70P-6000) to front and rear locations on engine.
10. Install Three Bar Engine Support 303-DO63 (D88L-6000-A) or equivalent and suitably support engine assembly.
11. Raise and suitably support vehicle on hoist.
12. Place drain pan under transaxle.
13. Loosen lower transaxle pan retaining bolts and drain fluid from transaxle.
14. When fluid is drained to level of transaxle pan flange, remove remaining transaxle pan bolts gradually allowing transaxle fluid to drain and remove transaxle pan.
15. When transaxle fluid has completely drained, reinstall transaxle pan.
16. Remove front tire and wheel assemblies.
17. Remove both halfshafts; from vehicle.
18. Disconnect four heated oxygen sensor electrical connectors.
19. Remove three bolts, seven nuts and Y-pipe assembly from vehicle.
20. Disconnect two starter motor electrical connectors.
21. Remove one bolt, one stud and starter motor from transaxle.
22. Remove one bolt and transmission housing cover from transaxle.
23. Position High Lift Transmission Jack 014-00942 or equivalent under transaxle and suitably support transaxle.
24. Remove one lower transaxle-to-engine bolt.
25. Remove four flywheel-to-torque converter nuts.
26. Remove two bolts, two nuts and rear engine support from transaxle.
27. Remove one bolt from RH engine mount brace.
28. Slowly lower transaxle making sure no obstructions exist and remove transaxle from vehicle.
