Front Crankshaft Seal: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Remove the crankshaft pulley.

CAUTION: Protect the crankshaft surface when removing the oil seal.





2. Remove the crankshaft front oil seal.
1 Install Seal Remover.
2 Pry out the oil seal.

INSTALLATION

NOTE:
- Use the washer of the crankshaft pulley bolt for installation.
- Coat the outer ring and the sealing lip of the oil seal with Engine Assembly Lubricant D9AZ-19579-D or equivalent meeting Ford specification ESR-M99C80-A.





1. Install the crankshaft front oil seal.
1 Position the oil seal.
2 Install the Crankshaft Seal Replacer/Cover Aligner and turn to install the oil seal.

2. Install the crankshaft pulley/vibration damper.
