Lower

REMOVAL
1. Release the fuel pressure.
2. Remove the upper Intake manifold.
3. Disconnect the fuel lines.





4. Disconnect the fuel charging wiring harness electrical connectors.
1 Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor electrical connector.
2 EGR back pressure transducer.
3 Fuel injectors.
4 Position fuel charging wiring aside.






5. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the fuel pressure regulator.

CAUTION: Do not loosen or bend the intake manifold runner control (IMRC) cable bracket. Bracket alignment is critical and damage to the IMRC actuator may occur.






6. Disconnect the IMRC actuator cable from the stud and bracket.





7. Remove the bolts in the indicated sequence and remove the lower intake manifold.
- Discard the gaskets.

INSTALLATION

NOTE: Install new gaskets with the locating lugs facing downwards.






1. Install the lower intake manifold and install the bolts in the indicated tightening sequence.






2. Connect the IMRC actuator cable to the stud and bracket.





3. Connect the vacuum hose to the fuel pressure regulator.

NOTE: Begin installation of injector connectors at the front of the engine and work to the rear.






4. Install the fuel injection system wiring harness.
1 Connect the Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor.
2 Connect the Differential Pressure Feedback EGR (DPFE) sensor.
3 Connect the fuel injectors.

5. Connect the fuel lines.
6. Install the upper intake manifold.
