Sunroof / Moonroof: Description and Operation
The sliding roof panel is electrically operated and available as optional equipment. It requires a specific roof panel and headliner and is fitted with an air deflector. A unique roof console incorporates the interior lamp and houses the roof operating switch. The sliding roof panel operates in the following manner:
^ When the sliding roof panel switch is rocked rearward, the rear edge of the sliding roof panel lowers before the whole panel slides into the storage space between the roof headliner and the roof panel.
^ When the sliding roof panel switch is rocked forward with the roof open, the sliding roof panel moves forward either until the switch is released or the sliding roof panel has fully closed.
^ The rear portion of the sliding roof panel moves upward near the end of the forward travel allowing a weather-tight seal when the sliding roof panel is closed.
^ When the sliding roof panel switch is rocked forward, with the sliding roof panel fully closed, the rear of the sliding roof panel 'raises' to the VENT position.
^ With the sliding roof panel in the VENT position, rocking the sliding roof panel switch rearward closes the sliding roof panel.
