Diagnostic Procedures

The Symptom Chart may be used to help locate the air bag system concerns if no Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) are retrieved and the listed symptoms are observed. Whether or not the listed symptoms are observed, always retrieve all DTCs stored in the air bag diagnostic monitor memory by interpreting the flashing of the air bag indicator located in the instrument cluster. The air bag diagnostic monitor communicates DTCs by sequentially flashing the air bag indicator to provide a DTC. The DTCs will always be displayed in order of priority.




The air bag indicator illuminates for approximately six seconds when the ignition key is turned to the ON position and will turn off unless a fault is detected.
