Fuel Pressure Regulator: Service and Repair

REMOVAL

WARNING: Do not smoke or carry lighted tobacco or open flame of any type when working on or near any fuel related components. Highly flammable vapors are always present and may ignite, resulting in personal injury. Failure to follow these instructions will result in personal injury.

1. Perform fuel pressure release procedure.
2. Disconnect the fuel return pipe spring lock coupling.







3. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the pressure regulator.







4. Remove the pressure regulator.

INSTALLATION

1. Install a new pressure regulator O-ring seal.
- Lubricate the fuel pressure regulator O-ring seal with clean engine oil, XO-10W30-QSP or DSP or equivalent meeting Ford specification ESE-M2C-153-E, to aid installation.







2. To install the pressure regulator, reverse the removal procedure.
