Air Gap Adjustment

1. Check the air gap between the compressor drive pulley and the compressor pulley at 120 degree intervals.
1. Compressor pulley
2. Shim
3. Drive plate
2. If the air gap is not within specification, remove the A/C compressor.







3. Remove the compressor drive plate.
^ Remove the screw while at the same time holding the pulley with an oil filter strap wrench.







4. Remove the compressor pulley.
^ Remove the pulley retaining clip.
5. Adjust the air gap by adding or removing shims.
6. Install the compressor.







7. Install the compressor drive plate.
8. Check the air gap between the compressor drive plate and the compressor pulley at 120 degree intervals.
9. Install the A/C compressor.
