Condenser HVAC: Service and Repair

REMOVAL







1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
2. Reclaim the refrigerant.







3. Support the radiator with pins.
4. Raise and support the vehicle.







5. Remove the radiator shroud.







6. Disconnect the upper and lower lines from the air conditioning condenser.

NOTE: Seal the lines and the line connections with plugs.







7. Remove the air conditioning condenser from the radiator crossmember.







8. Remove right and left-hand side radiator brackets.







9. Remove the air conditioning condenser.
^ Push the radiator as far as possible towards the compressor.
^ Disengage the air conditioning condenser from its mountings at the top, push it towards the compressor and remove it.

CAUTION: Do not damage the radiator fins.

INSTALLATION

















1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
^ Check A/C system for normal operation.

CAUTION: Do not damage the radiator fins.

NOTE:
^ Replace all the O-rings and coat with refrigerant oil.
^ When the battery is disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the vehicle relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 16 km (10 miles) or more to relearn the strategy.
