Intake Manifold: Service and Repair
REMOVAL1. Remove the air cleaner outlet tube.
2. Disconnect the following electrical connectors.
- Throttle Position (TP) sensor.
- Idle Air Control (IAC).
- Engine control sensor wiring.
3. Remove the fuel supply manifold.
4. Remove the engine wiring harness screws and position aside.
5. Disconnect the vacuum supply hoses from the intake manifold by squeezing tabs, twisting hoses and pulling away from intake manifold.
6. Disconnect the brake booster vacuum line from the intake manifold.
- Disconnect the quick-release coupling and pull out the line.
7. Remove fuel charging wiring.
8. Remove accessory drive belt.
9. Remove the bolts. Position generator out of the way.
10. Remove the intake manifold.
- Remove the seven bolts and two nuts.
- Remove the intake manifold.
11. Remove the manifold gasket. Discard the gasket.
INSTALLATION
1. Install the new intake manifold gasket.
2. To install, reverse removal procedure.
