Vacuum Brake Booster: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
2. Remove the air cleaner.





3. Disconnect the main wiring harness electrical connector.
1 Depress the retaining lug.
2 Disconnect the electrical connector.
4. Remove the master cylinder.





5. Remove the actuator rod retaining clip.





6. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the brake booster.





7. Remove the brake booster.
- Remove the four nuts.

CAUTION: Do not pull on the accelerator and/or speed control cables.

INSTALLATION





1. Install the brake booster.
- Install the four nuts.





2. Install the vacuum hose to the brake booster.





3. Install the actuator rod retaining clip.
4. Install the master cylinder.





5. Install the main wiring harness electrical connector.
1 Locate the multiplug.
2 Engage the retaining lug.
6. Install the air cleaner.
7. Reconnect the battery ground cable.
