Removal

1. Remove the battery tray.





2. Remove the air cleaner outlet tube.





3. Remove the engine air cleaner (ACL).





4. Remove the constant control relay module (CCRM).
(1) Disconnect the CCRM electrical connector.
(2) Remove the CCRM bracket bolt and nut.
(3) Remove the CCRM and bracket as an assembly.





5. Disconnect the clutch slave cylinder tube from the hydraulic clutch hose and plug hose.





6. Remove the retaining clip and remove the tube and hose.





7. Disconnect the backup lamp electrical connector.





8. Remove the electrical connector support bracket.





9. Disconnect the vehicle speed sensor (VSS) electrical connector.





10. Install Three-Bar Engine Support D88L-6000-A.





11. Remove the three LH engine support insulator mounting bracket nuts.








12. Remove the two upper transaxle to engine bolts.
13. Raise and support the vehicle.





14. Remove the lug nuts and the wheel and tire assembly.





15. Remove the LH splash shields.
(1) Remove six splash shield bolts and clips.
(2) Remove both splash shields as an assembly.





16. Remove the drain-plug and drain the fluid.





17. Reinstall the drain-plug.





18. Remove the (A) front engine crossmember bolts and the (B) front engine crossmember.





19. Remove the engine support crossmember.

NOTE: Disconnect the A/C line from the retainer located on the front of the engine support crossmember.

(1) Remove the engine support crossmember bolts and nuts.
(2) Remove the LH engine mount nuts.
(3) Remove the transaxle mount nuts.
20. Remove the front wheel driveshaft and joints.





21. Install two Transaxle Plugs T88C-7025-RH into the

CAUTION: Failure to install the transaxle plugs may cause the differential side-gear to become improperly positioned.





22. Remove the gearshift stabilizer bar and support nut.





23. Remove the stabilizer bar and support from transaxle.





24. Remove the transaxle gearshift rod nut.





25. Remove the transaxle gearshift bolt and remove the transaxle gearshift rod and clevis from the input shift shaft.





26. Remove the starter motor.





27. Disconnect the lower clutch slave cylinder tube and plug it to prevent excess fluid loss.





28. Remove the two clutch slave cylinder nuts and the clutch slave cylinder.





29. Remove the two lower transaxle to engine bolts.





30. Position Hi-Lift Jack 014-00210 under the transaxle and secure-the transaxle to the jack.








31. Remove the middle transaxle to engine bolts.
32. Carefully lower the transaxle out of the vehicle.
