Removal and Installation
REMOVAL1. Remove the clutch disc.
2. Use Dial Indicator/Magnetic Base D78P-4201-B or equivalent and inspect the flywheel runout.
3. Install the (A) flywheel holding tool and remove the (B) six flywheel-to-crankshaft bolts and the (C) flywheel reinforcing plate (A/T only).
4. Remove the flywheel.
5. Inspect the flywheel for cracks, hot spots and scoring. If damage is found to the flywheel friction surface, machine flywheel friction surface. If damage found to the ring gear teeth, replace ring gear.
INSTALLATION
1. Position the (A) flywheel onto the crankshaft and install the six (B) flywheel-to-crankshaft bolts.
NOTE: Apply Threadlock and Sealer EOAZ-19554-AA or equivalent meeting Ford specifications WSK-M2G315-A5 and ESE-M4G204-A2 to flywheel-to-crankshaft bolt threads before installation.
2. Torque the flywheel-to-crankshaft bolts in sequence to specification.
3. Install the clutch disc.
