Disassembly
1. Secure the front wheel driveshaft and joint in a vise using protective jaw covers.2. Remove the front brake anti-lock sensor indicator if equipped, using a punch to drive it off the joint housing, and discard.
3. Remove the two front wheel driveshaft joint boot clamps and discard.
4. Slide the front wheel driveshaft joint boot back out of the way exposing the outboard driveshaft joint.
5. Mark the front wheel driveshaft joint to the driveshaft for reference to ensure correct installation.
6. Use a soft face hammer to separate the outboard front wheel driveshaft joint by gently tapping it off the driveshaft.
7. Remove the driveshaft bearing retainer circlip and discard.
8. Remove the snap ring from the outboard side of the driveshaft.
9. Wrap outboard driveshaft splines with tape.
10. Slide the front wheel driveshaft joint boot off of the driveshaft.
11. Clean and inspect the outboard bearings and cage for grit in grease or any signs of pitting or cracks; replace as necessary.
