Assembly

1. Clean all components with a suitable solvent and use compressed air to dry all parts and clean the fluid passages. Perform the following before assembling:
- Inspect the valves for damage or wear.
- Check for worn or broken springs.





2. Measure the free length of the throttle modulator valve spring, throttle spring, and the throttle assist spring. If not within specifications, replace the spring.

NOTE: Do not compress the spring when measuring it with vernier calipers.

Throttle modulator spring
Outer Diameter (A): 8.1 mm (0.319 inch)
Free Length (B): 43.4 mm (1.709 inch)
No. of Coils: 10.5
Wire Diameter (C): 0.80 mm (0.031 inch)
Identification Color: Gray
Throttle spring
Outer Diameter (A): 5.4 mm (0.213 inch)
Free Length (B): 46.2 mm (1.819 inch)
No. of Coils: 29.0
Wire Diameter (C): 0.88 mm (0.035 inch)
Identification Color: Light green
Throttle assist spring
Outer Diameter (A): 5.15 mm (0.203 inch)
Free Length (B): 26.88 mm (1.058 inch)
No. of Coils: 16.2
Wire Diameter (C): 0.60 mm (0.024 inch)
Identification Color: Red





3. Install the (D) throttle modulator valve spring, (C) throttle modulator valve, (B) stop plug, and the (A) stop pin.





4. Install the (E) throttle assist plug, (D) throttle assist spring, (C) throttle valve, (B) throttle spring, and the (A) throttle plug.
