Transmission Cooler: Description and Operation

The automatic transmission fluid (ATF) is cooled through the cooler, integrated in the radiator. The cooler cannot be replaced separately. In normal operation, ATF is pumped through the fluid cooler inlet tubes from the transaxle to the cooler and back. The transmission fluid cooler transfers heat from the ATF to the engine coolant.
