OTB - Line Pressure Test

1. Connect Pressure Gauge T57-77820A or equivalent to the line pressure inspection port (square head plug L), and the engine.
2. Turn the ignition switch ON.
3. Apply the parking brake and block the wheels.
4. Shift the gearshift lever to the OD position.
5. Read and record the line pressure at idle.
6. Perform a wide open throttle (WOT).

CAUTION: Steps 6.7 and 8 MUST be completed within 5 seconds, followed by cooling the automatic transmission fluid (ATF). The ATF can be cooled by placing the A/T in neutral (N) for one minute while the engine is at idle.

7. Read and record the line pressure with the engine at constant speed.
8. Release the accelerator pedal.
9. Compare the test results with the line pressure specification chart.
Range: P, OD, D, L
Idle (700-800 rpm): 430-550 kPa (62-81 psi)
Stall Speed (2400-2500 rpm): 920-1040 kPa (140-152 psi)
Range: R
Idle (700-800 rpm): 730-870 kPa (110-120 psi)
Stall Speed (2400-2500 rpm): 1500-1710 kPa (217-248 psi)

NOTE: If the line pressure solenoid fails, the A/T will operate at full line pressure.

10. Repeat the operational Test OTB for the following gearshift lever positions: R. D, and L.

CAUTION: Cool the ATF between each gear position being tested.

11. Leave the Pressure Gauge T57L-77820A connected and perform the Operational Test OTC. OTC - Stall Test
