Stator Shaft: Service and Repair






DISASSEMBLY
1. Remove the converter impeller hub seal.





2. Remove the bearing outer race.
(1) Use a pin punch and hammer to carefully drive the bearing outer race from the torque converter stator support.





3. Remove the stator support O-ring.

ASSEMBLY
1. Clean the components with a suitable solvent and use compressed air to dry all parts. Perform the following before assembly:
- Inspect the torque converter stator support for damage or wear.





2. Use Pinion Bearing Cup Replacer T80T-4000-E to press the new bearing outer race into the torque converter stator support.
3. Apply the specified amount of transaxle fluid to the new stator O-ring and install it on the torque converter stator support.
- Support O-ring inner diameter: 82.9 mm (3.264 inch).





4. Use Converter Seal Replacer T88C-77000-BH to install the new converter impeller hub seal.
