Pinion Gear: Service and Repair
DISASSEMBLY
1. Remove the seal rings.
2. Use (A) Step Plate D80L-630-A and (B) Bearing Pulling Attachment D84L-1123-A to press off both output gear bearings.
ASSEMBLY
1. Clean the components with a suitable solvent and use compressed air to dry all parts. Perform the following before assembly:
- Inspect the output gear for damaged or excessively worn teeth.
- Inspect the output gear splines for damage or wear.
2. Use (A) Dust Boot Replacer T87C-5493-A, (B) Bearing Cone Replacer T87C-77000-D, and (C) Axle Bearing/Seal Plate T75L-1165-B to press the new output (D) bearings onto the output gear.
3. Apply the specified transaxle fluid to the new seal rings and install them on the output gear.
- Seal Ring inner diameter: 27.6 mm (1.087 inch).
