Disassembly

NOTE: Remove the accumulator piston retainer, accumulator piston, and the accumulator piston springs from their proper bores in the transaxle case. The 1-2 accumulator is given as an example.





1. Remove the accumulator piston retaining ring while pressing against the accumulator spring retainer.





2. Remove the (A) accumulator spring retainer and the (B) accumulator piston springs.





3. Remove the accumulator pistons from the transaxle housing by applying compressed air through the fluid passages. Apply a maximum air pressure of 392 kPa (57 psi).

WARNING: USE CAUTION WHEN REMOVING ACCUMULATOR PISTONS FROM THE BORE USING COMPRESSED AIR.

Oil Passage: Removes Accumulator
A: 2-3 accumulator
B: 1-2 accumulator
C: N-D accumulator
D: N-R accumulator
