Priming

NOTE: A replacement power steering pump must be primed with Mercon(R) ATF (power steering fluid) or equivalent after installation in the vehicle.

1. Install the unprimed replacement power steering pump.

NOTE: Leave the drive belt off.





2. Fill the power steering pump reservoir to the proper level.
3. Turn power steering pump pulley several times by hand.
4. Install the drive belt.
5. Purge the power steering system of air. Service and Repair
