Inspection and Verification (Start Here)



1. Verify the customer concern by operating the starting system.
2. Verify the proper operation on the Antitheft and Alarm System (if equipped). Refer to Antitheft and Alarm if necessary.
3. Visually inspect for obvious signs of mechanical and electrical damage; refer to the following:

Visual Inspection

Mechanical
- Damaged ignition switch
- Damaged starter clutch pedal position

Electrical
- Blown fuse(s)
- Damaged wiring harness
- Loose or corroded connections
- Starting system
- Damaged transmission range (TR) switch

4. If the fault is not visually evident, determine the symptom and proceed to the Symptom Chart. Symptom Chart
