Flow of Diagnosis

INSPECTION AND VERIFICATION
1. Verify the customer concern by operating the ignition switch.
2. Visually inspect the ignition switch for damage. Refer to the following list:
Mechanical
- Damaged ignition switch
- Damaged shift cable and bracket (A/T)
Electrical
- Loose or Corroded connection
- Blown 100 A MAIN fuse
- Blown 10 A ROOM fuse
- Circuit

3. If binding occurs, turn the steering wheel left or right to release any pressure on the ignition switch and verify that the ignition key is cut properly.
4. If the cause of the malfunction cannot be found by visual inspection, refer to diagnosis by symptom for further diagnosis. Symptom Related Diagnostic Procedures
