Camshaft Position Sensor: Service and Repair
REMOVAL1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
NOTE: When battery voltage is removed from the Powertrain Control Module (PCM), all learned values will be cleared and reset to predetermined values. When battery voltage is restored to the PCM, the vehicle may exhibit certain driveability concerns. It will be necessary to drive the vehicle to allow the PCM to relearn values for optimum driveablilty and performance.
2. Perform fuel pressure release procedures.
3. Remove the fuel injection supply manifold.
4. Remove the (A) Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor bolt and the (B) CMP sensor.
INSTALLATION
1. Inspect the O-ring for damage and replace if necessary.
NOTE: Lubricate the O-ring with light engine oil.
2. Install the (A) CMP sensor and the (B) CMP sensor bolt,
3. Install the fuel injection supply manifold.
4. Connect the battery ground cable.
