A/C Cycling Switch

Located on top of the suction accumulator/drier, the A/C cycling switch monitors the refrigerant pressure and sends this information to the Powertrain Control Module (PCM). The A/C cycling switch is normally closed when the refrigerant pressure reaches 317 kPa (46 psi) and is opened when the refrigerant pressure drops to 159 ±1 7 kPa (23 ± 1 psi).

When functioning properly, the A/C cycling switch will prevent evaporator icing and the blockage of air flow through the evaporator fins.
