Diagnosing Customer Concerns With Hard Fault Codes

WARNING: Never probe the connectors on the air bag. Doing so may result in air bag deployment which could result in personal injury.

Air bag system diagnostic procedures will require you use the Deactivation/Reactivation Procedures. These procedures require the removal of the driver side air bag module and passenger side air bag module from the vehicle, thereby removing the risk of air bag deployment while diagnostics are performed.

Air Bag Simulator T96P-50-AH:

Air Bag Simulator 105-R0010 and T96P-50-AH are required to perform diagnosis and testing of the air bag system. An air bag simulator is a resistor used to simulate an air bag module connection to the system. It is not acceptable to short-circuit the air bag module connection with a zero ohm jumper wire. If a zero ohm jumper wire is used to short-circuit the air bag module connection, a Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) 34 or 35 will be displayed.
