CAUTION: Never perform a repair to the air bag system without following the Deactivation/Reactivation Procedures to avoid accidental air bag deployment.

1. Verify the customer concern by checking the air bag indicator in the instrument cluster.

2. Visually inspect for obvious signs of mechanical and electrical damage:

Mechanical
Damaged air bag monitor and/or bracket
Loosely mounted air bag sensors

Electrical
Blown Fuse(s)
Damaged Constant Control Relay Module (CCRM)
Damaged wiring harness
Loose or corroded connectors
Circuitry open/shorted

3. If the concern is not visually evident, retrieve any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) and proceed to Diagnosis by Symptom.
