DTC's and Description

NOTE: This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the transmission range (TR) switch electrical system only. To prevent replacement of good components, be aware that the following areas may be at fault:
- Engine starter and starter relay.
- Electrical (Battery, ignition switch, wiring harnesses).
- Internal transmission components, linkages.

DESCRIPTION
This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following components:
- Transaxle wiring harness, TR switch.
- Powertrain control module (PCM).
- Starter circuits, backup circuit.

DTC's
P0707: indicates TR circuit is shorted to ground.
P0705: indicates TR circuit is out of self-test range.
P0708: indicates TR circuit is high or has an open circuit.
P1709: indicates the park/neutral position (PNP) circuit is out of self-test range.
P1705: TR switch not indicating park (P) during KOEO.
