Throttle Body: Service and Repair
REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
NOTE: When battery voltage is removed from the Powertrain Control Module (PCM), all learned values will be cleared and reset to predetermined values. When battery voltage is restored to the PCM, the vehicle may exhibit certain driveability concerns. It will be necessary to drive the vehicle to allow the PCM to relearn values for optimum driveablilty and performance.
2. Remove the air cleaner outlet tube.
3. Disconnect the (A) speed control actuator, the (B) accelerator cable, and the (C) throttle valve control actuating cable.
4. Disconnect the (A) idle air control valve and the (B) throttle position sensor electrical connectors.
5. Remove the vacuum line from the bottom of the throttle body and position it aside.
6. Remove the bolts and the throttle body.
7. Remove and discard the throttle body gasket.
8. To install, reverse removal procedures.
