Fuel Pressure Regulator: Service and Repair

REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION






1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.

NOTE: When battery voltage is removed from the Powertrain Control Module (PCM), all learned values will be cleared and reset to predetermined values. When battery voltage is restored to the PCM, the vehicle may exhibit certain driveability concerns. It will be necessary to drive the vehicle to allow the PCM to relearn values for optimum driveablilty and performance.

2. Perform fuel pressure release procedures.






3. Disconnect the fuel pressure regulator vacuum hose.






4. Remove the fuel pressure regulator screws and remove the fuel pressure regulator.

NOTE: Replace the fuel pressure regulator O-rings and lubricate with light oil meeting ford specification ESE-M2C153-E, such as Motorcraft motor oil, or equivalent.









5. To install, reverse the removal procedure.






6. Connect the battery ground cable.
