Fuel Line Coupler: Service and Repair

REMOVAL

WARNING: Refer to Fuel System/Service Precautions/Technician Safety Information.

1. Perform fuel pressure release procedures.






2. Remove the fuel line clip.






3. Install Disconnect Tool D87L-9280-A (3/8 inch) or D87L-9280-B (1/2 inch).






4. Close and push the disconnect tool into the open side of the cage.






5. Separate the fitting.






6. Remove the disconnect tool.

INSTALLATION






1. Inspect and clean both coupling ends. Replace the O-rings and garter springs if necessary.

NOTE: Lubricate the O-rings with clean engine oil.






2. Fit the (A) male fitting into the (B) female end and push until the garter spring snaps over the flared end of the female fitting.






3. Ensure the coupling engagement by pulling on the lines.
