Accelerator Pedal: Service and Repair

REMOVAL






1. Remove the accelerator cable from the throttle control lever.
1 Remove the cable housing from the bracket.
2 Remove the accelerator cable end from the throttle control lever.
3 Remove the accelerator cable.






2. Remove the (A) bolts and lower the (B) accelerator pedal and shaft.






3. Squeeze the (A) cable end locking grommet tabs to remove the (B) accelerator cable end from the (C) accelerator pedal shaft.






4. Remove the E-clip.





5. Remove the (A) accelerator pedal and shaft from the (B) accelerator shaft retainer.






1. Place the (A) end of the spring against the (B) accelerator shaft retainer. Rotate the (C) end of the spring and insert the (D) accelerator pedal and shaft.

INSTALLATION






2. Install the E-clip.
3. Install the accelerator cable end to the pedal shaft.






4. Raise the accelerator pedal and shaft and install the bolts.
5. Route the cable and install the cable end to the throttle control lever and the cable housing to the bracket.
6. Adjust the accelerator cable.
