Headlamp Dimmer Switch: Description and Operation
COMBINATION SWITCH ASSEMBLY
The combination switch assembly is mounted on the steering column just below the steering wheel. Each switch can be replaced individually.
- Multi-Function Switch.
- Hazard Flasher Switch.
- Wiper/Washer Switch.
MULTI-FUNCTION SWITCH
The multi-function switch, located on the LH side of the combination switch assembly, controls the following:
- Headlamps.
- Parking lamps.
- Side marker lamps (wagon only).
- Turn signal lamps.
- Flash-to-pass feature.
HEADLAMPS AND THE PARKING LAMPS
The headlamps and the parking lamps are activated by rotating the knob on the end of the switch lever. To activate the high beams, move the lever away from the steering wheel to the stop position. To return to the low beam headlamp operation, move the lever back to the normally centered position. To operate the flash-to-pass feature, pull the lever gently toward the steering wheel. When the turn signal lever is released, the headlamps will return to the original OFF or low beam operation.
