Evaporator Core: Description and Operation

NOTE: Whenever the A/C evaporator core is replaced, the suction accumulator/drier must be replaced.

The A/C evaporator core is located in the A/C evaporator housing. Liquid refrigerant from the A/C evaporator core orifice enters the A/C evaporator core and cools the evaporator fins. Air from the A/C blower motor passes through the fins and is cooled and dehumidified before flowing to the passenger compartment.
