Rear Crankshaft Main Bearing Seal: Service and Repair
REMOVAL1. Remove the transaxle. Refer to Transmission and Drivetrain.
2. Remove the flywheel/flex plate (6375).
NOTE: Use care to avoid damaging the crankshaft surface.
3. Use Seal Remover T92C-6700-CH to remove the crankshaft rear oil seal (6701).
4. Inspect the crankshaft rear oil seal area for any damage which may cause the crankshaft rear oil seal to leak. If damage is evident, repair or replace the crankshaft as necessary.
INSTALLATION
NOTE:
Coat the rear oil seal area and the crankshaft rear oil seal lip with light engine oil.
Ensure the crankshaft rear oil seal is on correctly and that the edges are not rolled over.
1. Use Crankshaft Rear Seal Pilot T88P-6701-B2 and Crankshaft Rear Seal Replacer T88P-6701-B1 to install the crankshaft rear oil seal.
2. Install the flywheel/flex plate.
3. Install the transaxle.
