Specifications and Limits
Specifications show the expected minimum or maximum condition. If a component fails to meet the specifications, it is necessary to replace or refinish. If the component can be refinished, wear limits are provided as an aid to making a decision. Any component that fails to meet specifications and cannot be refinished must be replaced.

INSPECT





Inspect camshaft lobes for pitting or damage in the active area. Minor pitting is acceptable outside the active area.

LIFT





1. Measure diameter (A) and diameter (B) with a vernier caliper. The difference in measurements is the lobe lift





2. Measure each side of lobe for even wear.
