D - Slow Or Incomplete Brake Pedal Return

D1 - VERIFY CONDITION
- Turn ignition to "OFF".
- Operate the brake pedal.
- Is the brake pedal return slow or incomplete?
YES - Go to D2.
NO - Vehicle is OK.

D2 - CHECK BRAKE PEDAL PIVOT

Brake Pedal/Push Rod:

- Remove the (A) cotter pin and (B) clevis pin from the (C) brake master cylinder pushrod fork end bracket.
- Move the master cylinder push rod aside.
- Operate the brake pedal.
- Does the brake pedal return completely?
YES - Reconnect the brake master cylinder push rod. Go to D3.
NO - Repair or replace the brake pedal and bracket assembly.

D3 - CHECK THE POWER BRAKE BOOSTER
- Perform the Power Brake Booster Component Test.
- Is the power brake booster OK?
YES - Replace the brake master cylinder.
NO - Replace the power brake booster.
