Removal

1. Remove battery ground cable and positive battery cable.
2. Remove battery and battery tray.
3. Remove Air Cleaner (ACL).
4. Disconnect transaxle harness electrical connector and Transmission Range (TR) sensor electrical connector.





5. Remove shift actuator cable fitting, one nut and disconnect transaxle shift cable from shift cable bracket and transaxle.
6. Remove shifter lever and retaining nut.
7. Disconnect fluid cooler lines from transaxle.

Transmission Installation:





8. Remove four upper transaxle-to-engine bolts. Remove one upper transaxle-to-engine stud.
9. Remove RH cowl assembly.
10. Install Rotunda Engine Lifting Eye Set 134-00243 or equivalent, if necessary.

Three Bar Engine Support:





11. Install Rotunda Three Bar Engine Support D88L-6000-A or equivalent and suitably support engine assembly.
12. Raise and suitably support vehicle on hoist.
13. Place drain pan under transaxle.
14. Loosen lower transaxle pan retaining bolt. Drain fluid from transaxle.
15. When fluid is drained to level of transaxle pan flange, remove remaining transaxle pan bolts gradually allowing fluid to drain. Remove transaxle pan.
16. When transaxle fluid has completely drained, reinstall transaxle pan.
17. Remove front tire and wheel assemblies.
18. Remove both halfshafts from vehicle.
19. Disconnect four Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) electrical connectors.
20. Remove three bolts, seven nuts and Y-pipe assembly from vehicle.
21. Disconnect two starter motor electrical connectors.
22. Remove one bolt, one stud and starter motor from transaxle.
23. Remove one bolt and transmission housing cover from transaxle.
24. Remove front sub-frame.
25. Position Rotunda High Lift Transmission Jack 014-00942 or equivalent under transaxle and suitably support transaxle.
26. Remove one lower engine-to-transaxle bolt.
27. Remove four flywheel-to-torque converter nuts.

Rear Engine Support:





28. Remove three bolts, two nuts and rear engine support from transaxle.
29. Remove one bolt from RH engine mount brace.
30. Slowly lower transaxle making sure no obstructions exist and remove transaxle from vehicle.
