Clockspring Assembly / Spiral Cable: Adjustments

1. Make sure battery ground cable is disconnected.

2. Remove bolt retaining steering column lower yoke to lower steering column intermediate shaft coupling and push steering column intermediate shaft coupling downward out of steering column lower yoke.

3. Rotate sliding contact ring in air bag sliding contact counterclockwise until tight. Once tight, rotate sliding contact ring clockwise 2.5 turns.

4. Align yellow pointer on sliding contact ring with yellow pointer on air bag sliding contact.

5. Reattach steering column lower yoke to lower steering column intermediate shaft coupling.

6. Install steering wheel.

7. Connect battery ground cable.

8. Verify air bag warning indicator.
