Q: High Beam Waring Never/Always ON

Q1 Check High Beam Operation
- Turn headlamp switch to HEAD position.
- Actuate multi-function switch to high beam position.

Do high beams come on?

Yes
GO to Q2.
No
REFER to headlamp system diagnostics.

Q2 Check High Beam Indicator Input
- Turn headlamps OFF.
- Disconnect instrument cluster connector C250
- Turn ignition switch to RUN.
- Using a voltmeter connected to ground, measure Pin C250, Circuit 932 (GY/W) for voltage

Is voltage greater than 5 volts?

Yes
SERVICE Circuit 932 (GY/W) for short to B+. If vehicle is equipped with daytime running lamps, GO to Q3
No
GO to Q4.

Q3 Check Daytime Running Lamp Control Module
- Turn ignition switch OFF.
- Disconnect daytime running lamp control module connector.
- Turn ignition switch to RUN.
- Using a voltmeter connected to ground, measure instrument cluster Pin C250, Circuit 932 (GY/W) for voltage.

Is voltage greater than 5 volts?

Yes
SERVICE Circuit 932 (GY/W) for short to B+. RESTORE vehicle. RETEST system.
No
REPLACE daytime running lamp control module. RESTORE vehicle. RETEST system.

Q4 Check Circuit 932 (GY/W) For Open
- Turn ignition switch OFF.
- Disconnect fuse junction panel connector C225.
- Using an ohmmeter, check the resistance of Circuit 932 (GY/W) between Pin C250 (C250 FFV vehicles) of instrument cluster and Pin C225 of fuse junction panel.

Is resistance less 3 ohms?

Yes
GO to Q5.
No
SERVICE Circuit 932 (GY/W) for open. RESTORE vehicle. RETEST system.

Q5 Check Circuit 932 (GY/W) For Short To Ground
- Disconnect both front high beam headlamps.
- Using an ohmmeter connected to ground, measure resistance at instrument cluster connector Pin C250 (FFV vehicles Pin C250), Circuit 932 (GY/W).

Is resistance 10,000 ohms or less?

Yes
SERVICE Circuit 932 (GY/W) for short to ground. RESTORE vehicle. RETEST system.
No
GO to Q6.

Q6 Check High Beam Indicator Bulb
- Remove instrument cluster as described.
- Remove high beam indicator bulb.
- Using an ohmmeter, measure resistance across bulb.

Is resistance 13 ohms or less?

Yes
REPLACE instrument cluster printed circuit. RESTORE vehicle. RETEST system.
No
REPLACE bulb. RESTORE vehicle. RETEST system.
