F1 - F5



F1 Check Speedometer
- Road test vehicle.

Is speedometer operating?

Yes
GO to F2
No
GO to F5

F2 Check Odometer Accuracy
- Drive vehicle over a known distance.

Is odometer reading accurately?

Yes
GO to F3.
No
GO to F4.

F3 Check Speedometer Accuracy
- Drive vehicle at a steady speed over a 10 km (16 mile) distance and record the total distance travelled.

Does speedometer meet Speedometer Calibration Tolerance Specifications?

Yes
System OK.
No
REPLACE speedometer assembly.

F4 Check For Correct Driven Gears
- Check for correct driven gear on speed sensor.

Is correct drive gear present in transaxle and correct drive gear on speed sensor (Refer to Specifications - Speedometer Calibration Tolerance Specification)?

Yes
GO to F5.
No
INSTALL correct drive and driven gear. RETEST system.

F5 Check Hot Circuit 729 (R/W) For 12V
- Using a voltmeter, measure voltage of Circuit 729 (R/W).
- Disconnect C250.
- Connect lead to a known good ground, connect second lead to Circuit 729 (R/W).

Is voltage greater than 10.5 volts?

Yes
GO to F6. Replace C250.
No
CHECK fuse and/or SERVICE Circuit 729 (R/W). RESTORE vehicle. RETEST system
