Oil Pump Drive Shaft: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Remove oil pan.
2. Remove oil pump retaining bolts and oil pump.
3. Remove oil pump intermediate shaft from oil pump.

INSTALLATION

NOTE: Make sure retaining ring is in place on shaft.

1. Insert oil pump intermediate shaft into hex drive hole in oil pump until oil pump intermediate shaft retaining ring clicks into place.
2. Install oil pump with oil pump intermediate shaft through intermediate shaft hole in rear main bearing cap. Position oil pump over locating pins.
3. Install retaining bolt and tighten to 40-55 Nm (30-40 ft. lbs.).
4. Install oil pan.
