Oil Clearance

1. Measure the camshaft bearing inner diameter (ID) in the cylinder block and record.
2. If any cam bearing, ID is not 51.038-51.063 mm (2.0094-2.0104 inch). Replace bearing.
3. Measure the camshaft journal diameters and record.
4. If any journal is not 50.987-51.013 mm (2.0074-2.0084 inch) replace camshaft.
5. Subtract the camshaft bearing journal outer diameter from the cylinder bore inner diameter to obtain the oil clearance.
All: 0.025-0.076 mm (0.001-0.003 inch).
4. If the oil clearance exceeds the limit, replace the camshaft bearing and/or camshaft as required.
