Journal

1. Remove light scuffs, scores, or nicks from the camshaft machined surfaces with a smooth oil stone.
2. The camshaft must be replaced if camshaft journals are excessively worn or scored.
3. Measure the camshaft journal diameters and record.
4. If any journal is not 50.987-51.013 mm (2.0074-2.0084 inch) replace camshaft.
5. Camshaft journals can be refinished to accommodate 0.38 mm (0.015 inch) undersize bearing. If the journals do not "clean up," the camshaft must be replaced.
