G - Brakes Lockup When Applied
G1 BRAKE LOCK UP TESTRoad test vehicle and apply brake pedal lightly. Do rear brakes lock up?
YES - Go to G2.
NO - Vehicle OK.
G2 TIRE INSPECTION
Check for excessive tire wear or improper tire pressures. Are tires good?
YES - Go to G3
NO - Replace tires as necessary. Inflate to proper pressure. Repeat G1.
G3 BRAKE PAD INSPECTION
Inspect Brake Shoes and Linings for grease or fluid or linings and wear concerns. Are there any concerns?
YES - Service or replace if necessary. Repeat G1
NO - Go to G4.
G4 PRESSURE CONTROL VALVE TEST - RH REAR
- Install pressure gauges in LH Front and RH Rear bleeder screws. Apply brake to read 1000 psi (6895 kPa) at LH front wheel.
- Read pressure at RH rear wheel.
- Does pressure gauge read between 680-750 psi (4692-5164 kPa)?
YES - Inspect calipers and replace as required. Go to G5.
NO - Replace RH rear brake pressure control valve. Go to G5.
G5 PRESSURE CONTROL VALVE TEST - LH REAR
- Install pressure gauges in RH Front and LH Rear bleeder screws. Apply brake to read 1000 psi (6895 kPa) at RH front wheel.
- Read pressure at LH rear wheel.
- Does pressure gauge read between 680-750 psi (4692-5164 kPa)?
YES - Inspect calipers and replace as required.
NO - Replace RH rear brake pressure control valve.
